The Guardians

Once revered, the Guardians worked hand in hand with humanity in forging a peaceful, bright and prosperous future. They gifted mankind with marvelous, supernatural gifts, an offering of cooperation and insight. These powerful gifts granted mankind the power to create beyond their wildest dreams, forging great cities to life. Then humanity forgot their humility, arrogance leading them to believe that they themselves were God-like with all their creations. They had forgotten those who had bestowed upon them the gifts of magic. The Guardians grew tired of the virulent sickness that was man's greed, and they turned away from the people of Moren Ezen. With them they took their gifts and they faded, leaving behind a world of chaos.

500 years have passed since the Cataclysm, and the world is changing. The Guardians are returning. They have seen mankind's progress from the ashes of war, and while not all see eye to eye, they all agree the time has come to begin anew.
