Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a random, non-hereditary mutation that may occur in any breeding. It is characterized by solid patches of white that take unusual shapes and progress with age, spreading further over the body. Typically symmetrical, vitiligo tends to appear fairly even on each side of the body. These patches are typically round and unpredictable in shape, often with a halo edge. Larger patches on the body may fade out with a roan or sabino like effect. Often concentrated around the muzzle, eyes, elbows and flank, but may appear anywhere on the body.

Vitiligo may not mimic other white markings, such as Tobiano, Overo or Blizzard.
