Magebane

Magebane is a marking often seen as a bad omen, believed to be the touch of the Guardians. These distinct markings appear on the coat as chestnut splashes, often likened to blood. It can cover upwards of 50 % of the body and appear anywhere, ranging in any shade of chestnut. The colour may have a subtle gradient. Magebane is characterized by it's hard, splashed appearance. It does not display with any sort of textured edges or speckling, though may have a halo similar to white marks. It may have a broken appearance with holes and spots.

Dominant Magebane (MgMg) is not viable. Foals that receive two copies of the gene will be born infertile or stillborn.
